TerraGo Smart Streetlight Operations Software Deployed by Duquesne Light Company
TerraGo Technologies, the industry leader in smart streetlight operations software, with over five million streetlights under management for the world’s leading cities and utilities, announced today that Duquesne Light Company (DLC) has deployed TerraGo’s applications to install and manage their smart streetlight infrastructure. As a provider of safe and reliable electric service to more than 600,000 customers across two counties in southwestern Pennsylvania, DLC is committed to advancing a clean energy future. As part of modernizing its lighting infrastructure operations, DLC chose TerraGo’s software for its industry-proven ability to compress smart lighting deployment schedules and lower operations and maintenance expenses.
TerraGo’s field operations software, SLV:GO, is seamlessly integrated with Itron’s Streetlight.Vision (SLV), a smart cities central management software solution. This platform will help DLC operate more efficiently, which will lead to cost savings, energy efficiency gains and reduced emissions, and ultimately enable DLC to better serve its customers.
TerraGo’s platform provides full life-cycle management of streetlights, helping DLC efficiently manage all phases of its smart streetlight program including planning, inventory, installation, maintenance and work order management. TerraGo’s integration-as-a-Platform (iPaaS) seamlessly synchronizes field crew and system updates across DLC systems including SLV, Geographic Information System (GIS), billing, asset management and more.
“Deploying smart lighting is a great opportunity for DLC to upgrade our maintenance capabilities and dramatically improve the efficiency of operations for the communities we serve,” said Yvonne Phillips, DLC’s director of meter operations. “This technology helps us plan deployments, manage inventory levels, deploy networked lights and leverage the intelligence of the smart lighting nodes. This partnership with TerraGo and Itron will enhance our reliability and contribute to our vision of a clean energy future for all.”
“It’s a great honor to be chosen by another leading utility as the streetlight operations software provider that will bring numerous benefits to so many communities,” said Dave Basil, president and CEO of TerraGo Technologies. “We’re excited to partner with DLC and Itron and appreciate the trust they put in our software and our people to support their clean energy mission and help them achieve their goal of modernizing their lighting infrastructure.”
